How it works
Each dish gets its own timer
Pasta, sauce and garlic bread finish at different times. Every timer has its own label, controls and sound, so you know which one is ringing without looking.
Adjust while it runs
+30 s, +1 min, +5 min or −1 min, without stopping. Take off more than is left and it finishes straight away rather than going negative.

Accurate in a background tab
Browsers throttle timers in tabs you are not looking at — often to once a minute. This measures against the clock instead of counting ticks, so switching tabs, or the laptop sleeping, changes nothing about when it finishes.
Practical advice
Getting a better result
- Preset times are starting points — stoves, pans and altitude all change cooking times.
- Turn on repeat for anything you stir at intervals.
- Save your own regulars as presets; they stay in this browser.
- Keep the tab open. A closed page cannot make a sound, however accurate its clock is — when you reopen it, a timer that ran out is shown as finished rather than ringing late.

How do I tell which timer is ringing?
The finished timer turns green and pulses, it is named in the alert, and each timer can use a different sound.
Will the screen turn off while I cook?
Where the browser supports it, the screen is kept awake while any timer is running.
