What a 20 minute timer is good for

The 20-20-20 rule

Every twenty minutes, look at something twenty feet away for twenty seconds. Turn on repeat and let it remind you.

Reading time

A daily twenty minutes of reading is a common school and habit target.

Timed quizzes

A natural length for a short in-class test.

Tip: Repeat mode turns this into a recurring eye-break reminder for the whole workday.

Questions

Does repeat drift over a day?

No. Each cycle starts at the exact moment the previous one ended, so after eight hours the reminders are still on the twenty-minute mark.

Does the 20 minute timer keep going in a background tab?

Yes. It measures elapsed time against your device clock rather than counting ticks, so browser throttling in a background tab cannot slow it down. Keep the tab open for the alarm to sound.
